SAFHER User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Update

October 18, 2024
Hello SAFHER Community,

Last week, the three SAFHER pilot states (IA, CO, and PA) worked through their second user acceptance testing (UAT) session. A total of 26 testers submitted nearly 100 comments to AFDO and Appian. They identified six bugs, added 14 items for enhancement added to the backlog, and highlighted areas for potential training for future system users.

Many testers also responded to a usability survey, which was included as part of the test scripts. Testers shared that the system was intuitive and that the user interface was visually appealing. They also indicated that training would be needed to increase their comfort level with the system. Overall, the usability results remained positive continuing the trend from the first UAT in June 2024.

The testers looked at a much wider range of features and functions during this UAT. Administrators worked through the full inspection form, from setup to completion. Supervisors and inspectors worked through the inspection workflow as well as the creation and approval of enforcements. Lastly, the clerk role set up new facilities and contacts.

These early testing sessions by SAFHER’s pilot state users continue to provide great ideas and insights for improving the platform for other states yet to experience SAFHER.

Until next week,
